Word is Bond

A monthly writing workshop rooted
in mindfulness and creative community.

Word is Bond

Are you a poet, writer, or artist?
Are you ready to solidify your creative practice?
Do you enjoy having a flexible structure and supportive environment?
Are you interested in developing a deep community?

Word is Bond is a monthly, queer-led, trauma-informed writing group where every genre and every level of experience is truly welcome. We gather to build a consistent creative practice, soften the isolation that so often comes with making art, and learn what fuels each other’s motivations, hopes, and long-term creative goals. Each session is guided by my lively, mindful, free-spirited approach, offering structure, support, and joy. Together we create a space where you can show up exactly as you are, experiment freely, and grow in community with other writers who want to be witnessed, connected, and inspired.

1st Saturdays in 2026
10:00 to 12:30 at the Westport Library
First meeting: Jan 3.
There will be a zoom option if the weather is bad.

What will we study?

Each month will have a different theme: introductions, metaphor, narrator, characters, framing, imposter syndrome, plot and setting, emotional resonance, finishing, performance, publishing, releasing.

There will be open discussion time, a 20 minute writing time, and then opportunity to share what we’ve written. 10-10:30 is gathering time and community connection. 10:30-12:30 is the workshop. The library opens at 10, so don’t arrive early!
