why are the paintings so inexpensive?

I am not a commodity. These paintings are gifts from nature, from the divine, and want to be housed where they can charm and protect a person who loves the small god.

Payment is a gesture. If you love some of my work and want to take it home to live with you, then we should know one another. I am more interested in community than career.

sign up for my email list, come to a party, join me in meditation, come to open mic on last sundays at the ArtHouse, knowing each other is why I do art, come hang.

Embracing Radical Change

The “small gods of animals” series began in the woods of the Ozarks in direct connection with deep wilderness. They have continued supporting and encouraging me over this time back in the city — through much grief and change. I lost my mentor Hugh and my Mother in this time, we have seen our country floundering in this time. These deities have sustained, protected and empowered me and I hope they do the same for you! They are all about body/infinity, about connection.

As my petroglyphs have entered the market, have become commodities, the spirits have fallen asleep in my hand. I will not force them to perform for my dinner. So, I am retiring the series from public life and this exhibition will be the last foreseeable engagement with the small gods of animals.

I am forever blessed by their appearance in my life and work. And I am releasing all unsold paintings after the show back into the wild from whence they came. Something new will emerge. It always does.

So many blessings to you, hope to see you at the show!
